PTA Monday Memo May 3, 2021

Teacher Appreciation Week, or National Teacher Appreciation Week, is a week-long celebration in recognition of teachers and the contributions they make to education and society. It is held in the first full week of May of every year and provides an opportunity for students, parents, and school administrators to show our appreciation for the hard work teachers do and the long hours they put in.  We are so proud of our outstanding Chatterton teachers and teaching assistants, and greatly appreciate everything they do for our students.  This year, in particular, required dedication and commitment like no other.  Our teachers and teaching assistants have created environments where students remain connected, comfortable, and learning.  This was no easy feat!  Please join us in thanking them!

National Nurses’ Day is celebrated annually on May 6th to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in society. It marks the beginning of National Nurses Week, which ends on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale.  We are so grateful for our school nurse, Mrs. Kravitz who has risen to the challenges presented this year with expertise and calm.  We could never have achieved such a successful school year without your leadership.  Our entire Chatterton community feels safer in your hands. We thank you!

This year has been the epitome of a TEAM effort.  Thank you to everyone for being on the CHATTERTON TEAM!

Please help us celebrate our staff members by flooding them with thanks this week!   See the flyer for some great ideas! teacher appreciation flyer to parents (4)

See you at the Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday evening at 7:15PM.  Have a great week!

  • The Chatterton PTA’s Culturtal Arts Program is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, May 11th, our second and third graders will participate in a virtual assembly entitled “Virtual Music Technology” presented by Brent Daniels.  Brent Daniels is a 25-year entertainment industry veteran and award-winning music producer, composer, and sound designer who uses the latest technology to sculpt sound and create music for Marvel Studios, Disney Studios, HBO, Netflix, and more.  Broadcasting from his production studio, Mr. Daniels utilizes a cinema quality multi-camera set up, high quality audio, and a unique approach to remote audience interactivity.  The dynamic program shows students the important relationship between the technology we use everyday, and the creation of music and sounds heard in movies, games, and in our lives. Student volunteers will participate to help Mr. Daniels create unique, on the spot sounds.  The program has received rave reviews and we are so happy to bring it to Chatterton.

  • Staff Appreciation Day will be celebrated at Chatterton on May 14th.
