Our first school-wide No Place for Hate activity is centered around our belief that a person can be kind to someone (e.g., hold the door open for someone, ask a teacher if they need help) without showing them respect (e.g., not playing with someone because of their gender, making fun of someone’s lunch because it looks different). Student Council representatives will partner with classroom teachers to lead a discussion about the topic of respect this week.  Discussion topics will include:

  • What is respect vs. kindness?
  • Is respect the same as kindness? How are they different?
  • Why should we focus on respect rather than only kindness?

All students will be given a piece of construction paper to trace his/her hand and then have him/her cut out the hand outline.  On the hand, each student will write one thing that can be done to demonstrate respect for others in the school. All the “hands” will be displayed together like leaves on a tree as a reminder of everyone’s commitment to respect one another. Please visit our display during Parent-Teacher Conferences.

The 5th Grade trip to Project Adventure will be rescheduled to the spring due to the forecasted inclement weather on Monday.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Tuesday, November 26th from 6:15-9:15 PM and on WednesdayNovember 27th during the morning hours.

There is no school Wednesday November 27th until Friday November 29th for Thanksgiving recess!  We wish all families a wonderful holiday with their family and friends!
