PTA Memo Monday March 22, 2021

Chatterton School launches our March Madness week this week!  The emphasis of our week will be on promoting healthy habits through exercise and friendly competitions.  Our PE teachers, classroom teachers and teaching assistants will all join in on the fun!  We encourage all students and staff to wear active gear (sweatpants, sneakers, etc.) each day next week!  Find time to talk to your child about ways they can stay active and healthy!
Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place on Thursday, 3/25 in the evening and Friday, 3/26 in the morning via Zoom.  There is no school for students on Friday, 3/26.
Attention 6th Grade Families:  We are excited to celebrate our sixth graders and we are planning for a wonderful end of the year experience for them!  We are working towards planning an in person Moving Up Ceremony which allows for the entire grade level to be together.  More information and dates will follow.  Guests will be limited to the guidelines set forth by NYS at the time of the event.  Our PTA is also sponsoring a fun-filled trip to Coleman Country Day Camp for all 6th grade students.  It is sure to be a memorable end of the year for all.  Stay tuned for more information!
For any family who expects to travel over this vacation, please note that the current travel quarantine guidance is still in effect.  Although there was an announcement stating the travel requirements would change effective April 1st, the NYS Department of Health has not yet adopted that guidance.  If NYS changes the guidelines, the district will inform families of any new procedures then.  The current guidelines are below:
  *  For any traveler to New York State from a non-contiguous state, US territory or CDC level 2 and higher country, the guidelines for travelers to test-out of the mandatory 10-day quarantine are below:
    *  For travelers who were out-of-state for more than 24 hours:
    *  Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York.
    *  The traveler must, upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days.
    *  On day 4 of their quarantine, the traveler must obtain another COVID test. If both tests come back negative, the traveler may exit quarantine early upon receipt of the second negative diagnostic test.
If your child has a pending PCR test, they cannot return to school until the results of the PCR have been received, even if they have a rapid test that was negative.
We hope that everyone has a wonderful vacation.  Wish all those who celebrate a Happy Passover and Happy Easter!
